Things To Do.

Andalucia.
With a long and colorful history Andalucia today continues to surprise and enchant visitors. Daily life, popular traditions and architecture here celebrate the rich inheritance of Moorish, Christian and Jewish cultures.

Torrox Pueblo.
Dating from moorish  times Torrox pueblo has small winding streets and friendly atmosphere. It is a village full of life with  attractive plazas, cafes, small shops and small  tapas bars. Just ten minutes away at the coast is the modern beach resort of Torrox Costa  and the old town of Nerja.  Here there are many supermarkets restaurants, tourist amenities and sandy beaches. It is this combination of old and new which makes a stay in the Torrox countryside so interesting, offering at the same time a quiet villa holiday in the Spanish "campo" with  the added convenience  of having some very lovely Mediterranean beaches and plenty of night life etc close by. The near perfect climate here at Torrox and the frequent local fiestas make this a year round destination and so whatever  time you choose to come you will always find Torrox a friendly and colorfull place to stay.

Activities, Adventures and Sightseeing from La Mexicana.
During your stay you  may be  tempted to go  diving,  horseback riding, sailing, hiking, wine tasting or even skiing in winter a Granada. There is plenty of  night life too  with bars, some discos  and many restaurants open at Torrox Costa, Nerja and Torre del Mar on the coast. For sightseeing there are roman ruins all along the coast, famous caves at Nerja and the world heritage site of the Alhambra at Granada. Other possible days trips from the villa include  Cordoba, Seville, Gibraltar, Ronda and even Morocco.

Suggestions for Family "Adventure" Day Trips from the Villa;

Sea Kayaking from Nerja
Kayaking is offered in hourly group excursions from Burriana beach in Nerja. No previous experience of kayaking is required. This is an amazing journey through the Maro-Cerro Gordo natural park. Waterfalls, hidden coves, crystal clear waters and some of the most pristine coastline on offer. Do it and you won’t be disappointed. Just twenty minutes from the villa

Walking the Rio Chillar
A local family walk at Nerja. Hiking up the Chillar river gorge armed with swimming trunks and old trainers (its gets very wet) is a summer tradition in most households. It can get crowded on weekends throughout the summer, but is well worth the effort. The higher you go, the more spectacular the countryside. River pools, waterfalls and the sound of rushing water from start to finish. The walk is about twenty minutes drive from Villa Mexicana.

The Hanging Bridges of Monachil
Always a big hit with the kids. A real Indiana Jones adventure. Suspension bridges will leave a lasting impression, as will the waterfalls, the river pools, the deep gorges, caves and the exceptionally beautiful countryside. About 1 hour from the the villa.

Exploring the Nerja Caves
One of the Spain's most visited natural attractions and by anyone’s standards a natural wonder. Home to the largest stalagmite Column in the world and some truly awesome inner chambers. A visit should be high on any family’s  list. 15 minutes drive from the villa.
